Inside Move Ilkley studio

Getting Started

Not at all — that's what we're here for! Move Ilkley welcomes everyone, whatever your starting point. If you're not sure which class is right for you, just drop us a message or have a chat with one of our coaches before you book. We'll point you in the right direction and make sure you feel comfortable from day one.
The easiest way is through the WellnessLiving app, which you can download for free. You can browse the timetable, book classes, and manage everything from there. If you get stuck, just send us a message and we'll help you out.
It really is! We offer a free taster session because we're confident you'll love it — and we want you to find your feet without any pressure. Come along, meet the team, and see if Move feels like your kind of place.
Just yourself and a water bottle. We have drinking water fountains, fresh face towels, and an onsite WC — so you don't need to worry about the basics. Wear something comfortable you're happy to move (and sweat) in, and you're good to go.
There's some free parking on nearby roads, as well as a few paid car parks within easy walking distance — charges vary by time of day. A heads-up: some streets close to the studio are permit-holder only, so keep an eye on the signs. Ilkley town centre is also well served by public transport if you'd rather leave the car at home.

Our Classes

We deliberately keep our classes small so you always get proper coaching. The lower studio typically takes up to 6 people, while the upper studio can accommodate up to 8 depending on the session. No lost-in-a-crowd gym vibes here.
Absolutely — your first session is free, and you're welcome to try a few different classes before deciding what works for you. There's no pressure to sign up until you're ready.
Whatever you feel comfortable moving in! Standard activewear is perfect — leggings, shorts, a breathable top. Trainers are fine for most classes; we'll let you know in advance if bare feet are preferred (for yoga and pilates, for example).
Yes, and we'd love to have you — but please have a quick chat with one of our coaches before booking. We want to make sure we put you in the right session and can adapt things to keep you comfortable and safe throughout your pregnancy.
Easy — just do it through the WellnessLiving app. We ask that you give as much notice as possible so your spot can go to someone on the waitlist. If you run into any trouble, drop us a message and we'll sort it.

Family Classes

We welcome babies from around 6 weeks old, providing you've been signed off for exercise by your GP or midwife. If you're unsure, just get in touch and we can have a chat about where you're at.
Whatever you'd normally bring to a baby group — nappies, a spare change of clothes, a toy or comforter if they have one. Buggies and prams are welcome inside, and there's space for mats, bouncers, or carriers. We'll make sure there's room for everyone.
Of course — it's a family class, not a library! Every parent in that room is in exactly the same boat. We take it all in our stride, and the atmosphere is always warm and relaxed. If you need to step out to settle your little one, no problem at all.
Yes, absolutely — you're very welcome. We do ask that you wait until you've been given the all-clear by your doctor or midwife before starting exercise, and please let your coach know before class so we can make sure everything is appropriate for your recovery stage. We'll adapt things to suit you.

Personal Training

With personal training, it's all about you. Your coach designs a programme around your specific goals, lifestyle, and any injuries or considerations. Every session is tailored, every rep has a reason, and you get undivided attention throughout. Group classes are brilliant for community and variety — PT is there when you want a more focused, individual approach.
That depends on your goals and schedule, and it's something your coach will help you figure out. Many clients do one or two PT sessions a week, sometimes combining these with group classes. We'll always work around what's realistic for your life — not what looks good on paper.
Yes, we can. Our coaches are happy to offer guidance and support around nutrition as part of your overall programme. This isn't about rigid meal plans or cutting things out — it's about helping you understand what works for your body and your goals, in a way that's sustainable.

Membership & Pricing

We have a range of options to suit different needs and budgets — head to the membership page for the full breakdown. If you're not sure which is the best fit, just get in touch and we can talk it through.
Yes, in certain circumstances. Life happens, and we'll always try to be flexible. Just reach out to us directly and we'll see what we can do.
We keep our pricing simple and the same for everyone — no complicated tiers or special rates. We're a small, independent business, and our prices already reflect the quality of coaching and the personal attention you get. What we can offer is real value for what you pay.

The Studio

There's a mix of free street parking and paid car parks within walking distance. Some nearby streets are permit-only, so worth checking the signs. Ilkley town centre is also well served by public transport if you'd rather leave the car at home.
We don't have dedicated changing rooms, but most people just arrive ready to go. We do have a private, lockable WC which you're welcome to use if you need to get changed. Everyone at Move is friendly and relaxed — you won't feel out of place.
Our lower studio is on the ground floor and is well set up for most needs. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please give us a shout before your first visit and we'll do everything we can to make sure you're comfortable and well looked after.
Yes! Prams and buggies are completely welcome. We have space inside for you to park up, so there's no need to worry about leaving your pram on the street.
